The History of Off-Key-Karaoke

     Off-Key-Karaoke was originally established in 1988 in Orlando, Florida by Robert Foley.  Off-Key-Karaoke was a weekly feature for the Windmill Pub located directly opposite Universal Studios in Orlando.  After a successful run at the Windmill Pub and several other locations in and around the Orlando metro area, in 1990 Off-Key-Karaoke headed to London, England and quickly established itself as one of South London's leading and best-known karaoke shows, often being asked to perform abroad at several well-known holiday resorts, including Tenerife (Spain), Tunisia (North Africa) and Ibiza.

     In 1996 due to the sudden loss of Robert's dad, Off-Key-Karaoke once again returned to the United States.  For several more years Off-Key-Karaoke continued to entertain thousands of people, and even branching off into a full event planning and entertainment company.  In 2005, Robert Foley and Kerry Shatzer met in Dallas, Texas to form an unstoppable team and create The-Event-Makers and Off-Key-Karaoke.  The talents and skills that Robert and Kerry possess combine to make The-Event-Makers and Off-Key-Karaoke your premier source for karaoke entertainment and event planning.  We hope you will choose Off-Key-Karaoke for your next party!

About Robert Foley

     Robert Foley, being no stranger to the entertainment industry, has performed in front of audiences since the early age of 8 years old.  He started as a competitive ice skater and competed for the US Regional and National levels, quickly turning his talents to music.  He is an accomplished musician, singer and performer.  He has performed for such companies as Walt Disney World (character work as Goofy and others, stilt walking, and Kid of the Kingdom), Walt Disney World On Ice and Ice Capades, traveling all over the world to such countries as Japan, United Kingdom and all over the Orient.  While spending the better part of seven years in England, Robert became an accomplished equestrian rider and trainer, and still currently rides and trains horses and riders here in Texas.  Combining his love for music and comedic timing, Off-Key-Karaoke was born!  You can come and see Robert at one of our gigs or send him an e-mail to Robert@off-key-karaoke.com, and he'll even sing a duet with you!

About Kerry Shatzer

     Kerry is an easy-going guy living in Dallas, Texas with his wonderful dogs Sadie and Bella.  He went to Plano Senior High, then went to Texas A&M University where his singing career started as the lead singer of the popular comedy band, Dr. Love & the Erogenous Zones.  He then moved off to St. Louis, Missouri for over a decade, but now he's back in Texas and ready to bring a little humor to your karaoke nights!  Kerry also creates DJ mix sets and original dance and electronica music under the name MIDI Queen, which you can listen to for free at www.midiqueen.com, plus check out his monthly progressive house music podcast at Podomatic too!  He's also written humor columns for Slam magazine and the Rainbow Arch online magazine, internet columns for Cybersocket magazine, and created puzzles and the occasional article for The Vital Voice in St. Louis (www.thevitalvoice.com).  He's a Pisces and enjoys music, reading, computers, puzzles, XBOX, and of course hosting karaoke!  Send him an e-mail at kerry@off-key-karaoke.com!
